Today, my ongoing home tour continues with pictures of our bathroom. You know, it’s a little weird posting pictures of one’s bathroom on the internet for everyone to see, right? But, OK, here goes anyway.
Our bathroom was completely rehabbed before we moved in back in 2009 so I haven’t done anything except paint, add a dresser for storage, replace the window treatment, and accessorize. The walls are “Saddle Tan” by Benjamin Moore. It’s a warm, medium brown that creates a nice glow and compliments the original mosaic tile that still covers the floor. These pictures were coincidentally taken on different days so you can see the way the wall color changes depending on the light.
The shower is tiled in glossy white subway tile and the metal is mostly brushed chrome.
From this angle, our bathroom looks very neutral and a bit plain.
But there is actually quite a bit going on decor-wise once you step inside.
Along with the tan, my accents are black and white, and a tiny bit of red. I’ve found many otherwise neutral rooms benefit from just a hint of red. It’s like a swipe of lipstick.
Eventually I’d like to replace the floor tile and install a counter-top to replace the existing pedestal sink and dresser.
